Sanger is thrilled to announce our newest Sanger Research Lab member, Walter Sowden. Sowden, a behavioral scientist with over 27 years of experience leading and improving organizations, joined Michigan Ross as a LEO intermittent lecturer in management and organizations. His research explores the paradox of loyalty, the intersection of morality and well-being, and the regulation of emotion in high-stakes situations. He is passionate about enhancing the well-being of military service members and veterans, particularly in the context of their reintegration into civilian life.

Sowden was motivated to join the Research Lab based on a strong alignment between his professional identity, experience, and research interests and the Lab’s mission. “I am particularly excited about the opportunity to collaborate with a distinguished community of scholars who share a common goal of bridging the gap between theory and practice,” he shared. “I look forward to integrating the valuable insights and findings from our research into my lessons, enriching the educational experience for my students and preparing the next generation of leaders. Joining the Sanger Research Lab represents a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful research, collaborate with esteemed colleagues, and make a significant impact on both the academic and business communities.”
