The Leadership Dialogues speaker series is a fireside chat-style event featuring accomplished industry, political and non-profit leaders discussing the latest ideas in organizational research and ongoing practice with U-M faculty. Speakers share advice on topics including how to develop leadership skills, lead purpose-driven organizations, and manage crises. In this session, Tiffanie Boyd (MBA ’98, BBA ’94), executive vice president and chief people officer at McDonald’s and member of the Sanger Advisory Board, was interviewed by Dr. Monica Worline, faculty director of the Center for Positive Organizations and faculty member in Management & Organizations at Michigan Ross. Drawing on Boyd’s leadership experience and Worline’s research expertise, the pair discussed how leaders can harness AI-driven tools and data while still prioritizing people, culture, and human potential.

At the Sanger Leadership Center at Michigan Ross, we help students grow as leaders using the Michigan Model of Leadership, a research-based framework built on more than 50 years of real-world practice. This video introduces the core concepts of the model, including its four key leadership skill areas—collaboration, innovation, providing structure, and driving results—and the leadership paradoxes that every leader must navigate. You'll also learn how the model operates across three levels: leading self, leading teams, and leading organizations, and how to use assessments and goal-setting to personalize your development.
