Can being too enthusiastic about work be a bad thing?
Sanger faculty champion and Michigan Ross Associate Professor of Management and Organizations, Julia Lee Cunningham, was recently featured in the University of Colorado Denver News and Harvard Business Review for her contribution to new research on the difference between intrinsically and extrinsically motivated employees in the workplace.
Their research found that whether workers are intrinsically or extrinsically motivated may impact the support and fostering they receive. The researchers believe that employers should recognize these varying motivations in an inclusive way, rather than acting based on perceived passion.
