Becoming a better leader is a continuous journey. The Sanger Leadership Center was an aspect that really attracted me to Ross. It was really important for me to practice and enhance my skills to set my future teams and communities up for success to help them grow.

In a few sentences, describe why you’ve dedicated your time here at U-M to becoming a better leader.
I’ve dedicated my time at U-M to becoming a better leader because, internally, I wanted to have more confidence and be able to lead teams to create impactful programs, projects, and events that I wouldn’t be able to do by myself. Also externally, I value mentorship a lot and I wanted to be someone who is able to uplift those who come after me and make a lasting impact so that students in the future possibly won’t face some of the same/similar challenges that I did. I love that by being a leader you are able to grow yourself and also help others have more confidence in themselves. This is why I strive to have a long lasting leadership journey because the more I improve the more I get the opportunity to reach out to others to give them something they need to take a chance, to start over, etc.
What piece of advice do you have for your peers?
My advice would be to be proactive in creating spaces of belongingness not only for others but for yourself as well. It’s so important to be aware of the people you interact with and how you interact with them because that is what truly shapes the culture of Ross and all of our experiences here. Along with this, I would also encourage everyone to recognize and know their value because we can all feel out of place at times. However knowing your value allows you to more quickly combat those doubts, which I think is important for anyone to become comfortable doing in their life!
Any pets?
No, not right now, but I would love to get a cat!
Favorite vacation spot?
I’m not too sure yet, as I hope to visit many different places in the future, but as long as I’m surrounded by great people and good food, that sounds like a great vacation to me!

In a few sentences, describe why you’ve dedicated your time here at U-M to becoming a better leader.
I want to help my colleagues reach their full potential and bring out the best in my teams. Together we can be great and do great things!
What piece of advice do you have for your peers?
I encourage my peers to take risks at Ross. The community is so supportive; in my experience, not only are my classmates patient and encouraging if I stumble and try again, but I also constantly feel that they’re rooting for me to succeed. I have never felt so believed in, and I want my peers to get the chance to feel the same way.
Any pets?
No, but I want to adopt a puppy and a kitten together so they grow up to be best friends.
