Earlier this month, the Sanger Leadership Center was honored to participate in Michigan Business Women’s (MBW) flagship event, the Women in Leadership Conference, for the second year in a row. The Center often contributes to the conference, which is held annually at Michigan Ross to equip MBA students with the skills and insights needed to excel as leaders in the business world.
The day began with Sanger’s Faculty Director, Dr. Lindy Greer, joining a panel of leaders in Leading in Turbulent Times. Dr. Greer and the other panelists discussed strategies for navigating challenges with resilience, focusing on advocating for teams, balancing personal well-being, and maintaining mental health in high-pressure environments.
Next, Sanger’s Assistant Director of Programs & Partnerships, Michelle Austin, and Associate Director of Integrative Experiences, Erica Haughton, facilitated a workshop on strengths-based leadership titled Discover and Harness your Superpowers. In this session, participants worked to identify their “superpowers”—their unique strengths. They explored the science behind strengths, reflected on their abilities, and created action plans to apply these insights in everyday life.
The final session, MBA to C-Suite, featured Sanger Advisory Board member Tiffanie Boyd, MBA ’98, BBA ’94, executive vice president and global chief people officer at McDonald’s. Boyd, alongside other top executives, shared her career journey and offered key insights on leveraging an MBA for corporate success and building mentorship relationships for long-term growth.
Through this partnership, Sanger and MBW continue to support current and future leaders aiming to drive meaningful change.
