Sanger Leadership Center Welcomes Investment Leader and U-M Alumnus Jon Harris to Advisory Board

The Sanger Leadership Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Harris (BGS ’94) to the Sanger Advisory Board. Chief executive officer of AIM13, Harris brings extensive experience in investment management, financial services, and organizational leadership, as well as a longstanding commitment to the University of Michigan.

At AIM13, Harris chairs the firm’s Investment Committee and Board of Managers and leads its investment management activities and overall strategic direction. Previously, he held investment roles at J.I. Harris & Associates, Goldman Sachs, and Madison Dearborn Partners. Earlier in his career, Harris also worked in government and politics, including roles with the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and the 1996 Dole-Kemp Presidential Campaign.

Harris has remained deeply engaged with the University of Michigan throughout his career, including serving on the Investment Advisory Committee for the university’s endowment and, currently, on the Michigan Ross Private Equity Council. He has also contributed his expertise to numerous investment committees and nonprofit boards.

Harris and his family have also demonstrated their commitment to developing emerging leaders through a generous gift from the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Foundation to expand access to leadership coaching at Sanger. Reflecting on the impact of that support, Harris shared:

“The opportunity for Michigan students to work with professional coaches to continue growing their leadership skills, combined with their Ross experience, will best position them to exemplify ‘Leaders and Best’ as they embark on their careers. We are honored to support the Ross School and the Sanger Leadership Center.”

Harris joins a diverse group of accomplished professionals who help guide Sanger’s mission to develop the next generation of leaders. The Advisory Board provides strategic input, supports fundraising efforts, and fosters corporate and alumni connections, with members contributing their expertise through bi-annual board meetings and engagement across Sanger programs.
