The Sanger Leadership Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Kohen to the Sanger Advisory Board. Founder and certified executive coach at JMK Leadership, Kohen brings decades of experience advising leaders and organizations on complex people, workplace, and leadership challenges.
Before founding JMK Leadership, Kohen served as a managing director and associate general counsel at JPMorgan Chase. Today, as an executive coach and leadership advisor, she combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of human development to help leaders grow and organizations thrive.
Kohen earned a BS in human development from Cornell University in 1998 and a JD from Harvard Law School in 2001. She also earned a certificate in executive coaching and human capital management from New York University in 2004. Her expertise in strategic advising, mentoring, and inclusive leadership practices will support Sanger’s work to prepare students to lead in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing workplace.
Reflecting on her decision to join the Sanger Advisory Board, Kohen shared:
“I’m excited to join the Sanger Advisory Board because its mission sits at the intersection of two things I care deeply about: leadership and developing people. As AI and other forces rapidly reshape the workplace, preparing the next generation to lead with self-awareness, thoughtfulness, and adaptability feels especially important.”
Kohen also shared:
“I believe leadership development should begin long before someone has a leadership title. The earlier people learn to understand themselves, work effectively with others, and navigate complexity, the stronger leaders they can become.”

Kohen joins a diverse group of accomplished professionals who help guide Sanger’s mission to develop the next generation of leaders. The Advisory Board provides strategic insight, supports fundraising efforts, and fosters corporate and alumni connections, with members contributing their expertise through biannual board meetings and engagement across Sanger programs.
