The Sanger Leadership Center is thrilled to announce that Akshay Kapoor, a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, has joined the Sanger Advisory Board.
Akshay received his BE from the Delhi College of Engineering in 1996 and his MBA from Michigan Ross in 2002.
In his role at McKinsey, Akshay utilizes his wide array of expertise spanning strategy, business development, growth, organizational capability, and operational transformation to build, scale, and manage diverse cross-functional teams to deliver distinctive impact. His efforts have significantly enhanced client metrics such as return on equity, net income, and customer engagement, even amidst challenging and intricate business landscapes. Additionally, Akshay’s experience extends to advising C-suite executives as well as the boards on navigating competitive dynamics, regulatory compliance, and evolving customer expectations, facilitating organizational restructurings, M&A, and operational overhauls. Committed to upholding ethical standards and fostering the development of talent, he remains dedicated to advancing both the strategic objectives of his clients and the professional growth of his colleagues.
Akshay is passionate about supporting the University of Michigan and its students. “I am very keen to help the next generation of leaders understand what being a leader truly means in the real world,” Akshay shared. “I want to ensure that our students are supremely confident about themselves, their education, and their ability to drive substantive impact.”

Akshay is the fourteenth member to join the Sanger Advisory Board, which is composed of accomplished and motivated executive professionals who are passionate about developing the next generation of leaders. The Board represents a variety of industries and experience levels and is dedicated to advancing the Center’s mission in three key areas: strategic input, fundraising, and corporate connection. Board members meet with the Center leadership several times per year and also contribute their expertise at several of Sanger’s programs.
